Blog 365 ~ Happy Mother's Day

It doesn't matter whether you gave birth to a human or have taken it upon yourself to be involved with a child [no matter their age], if you're a Dad doing double duty, OR if you are a pet [any kind] parent. Happy Mother's Day to you!

All the regular household stuff done, sweep, make bed, hubby made traditional Sunday oatmeal,
then dressed a bit spiffier for [Mother's Day] FCC church.
 We had a baby dedication, then senior graduate recognition. It was nice to Finally have a sermon I could follow, though it was short, sweet and simple I sort of wish Pastor could have elaborate a bit more with it being Mother's Day. My highlight was receiving a pink 🌸 carnation from the children at the end of their sermon class.

After church the hubby dropped me off uptown,
my 'new' girlie invited me to brunch along with her mom.
I'm so beyond Blessed to have these ladies in my life.
Unfortunately, girlie's wife had to work and wasn't able to join us.

After brunch I walked home changed clothes and got started on the to-do list.
First up was to get barrier [newspapers] and straw in between the plants in the garden.
this is something my dad taught me...the screen is to deter the birds but still
allow rain to come through. IF we have any more cold nights coming I have
heavy plastic to tent over the bed.

The hub's and I planted just a few days ago, and with the sunshine
and the bit of rain we've got,
we have blooms on the burpless cucumbers! A couple
of plants have more then 1 bloom...YAY!!

After getting that done it was onto weed eating in the front corner of
the house...[sorry no pic, it was bad!]
I didn't spray since we still want the ivy to grow, and just fall down the retaining wall. So old shower curtain and other scrap plastic, then black weed barrier and used up the leftover mulch. No one really sees it, just the next door neighbor, BUT I knew it was a mess and wanted to get it cleaned up. Thanks to the hub's for packing the mulch.

The niece' BF divided up his Red Canna and gave
me a start...
Another project the hub's helped with.

The only other thing that got done was bringing up the floor fans from basement,
cleaning them up and getting them situated in master bedroom & office. A quick Walmart stop shopping for a few essentials, then just a simple meatloaf patty sandwich [freezer food], leftover baked beans and a few chips was dinner and perfect for me.

Proverbs 31:10-29

10
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
