Race re-cap, Running Down a Dream

A fun new Race for the team....
Started from the race director's kitchen table she and her team are doing amazing things with their Living Stones Mission.
Living Stones Mission is an organization dedicated to rescuing and restoring victims of poverty and sexual exploitation in Kampala, Uganda. What began as the personal pursuit of three friends over a kitchen table in Lexington, KY has become an international non-profit making real change in the lives of the youth in Africa. Why Uganda? Eighty percent of the population of Uganda is under 35 years old. 70% of these young adults are unemployed. Extreme poverty has forced many young women into the commercial sex trade to survive.
To date, Living Stones Mission has rescued 25 young women. The program provides essential medical care, food, clothing and emergency shelter to those most vulnerable youth in Kampala. The center is a safe, compassionate space, where victims of exploitation can begin to heal from the traumas they've experienced. Basic education and job skills training enable these youth to become self-supporting.
The Running Down a Dream 5K is an invitation to partner with Living Stones to expand rescue capabilities in Kampala. Race proceeds will go straight to operations in Uganda for securing a larger emergency shelter, offering additional job skills training for young men, and providing basic living necessities for rescued youth and our team of volunteers.
Below are a few of my favorite photos from the race....Starting with a group photo with some of my Amazing runners kids,
