Casey County Explorer's Christmas Potluck

It's Christmas Party time with the Hikers!!

A lot of changes for this year's get together, and Boy am I thankful for it. The ''leaders'' of our growing group and I discussed and made changes that took a bunch of pressure off of my part of the group [Danville hikers]. In a nutshell each group was given an assigned portion for the potluck meal, Entrees, side dishes, desserts while we as Danville provided the breakfast items of coffee, juice & pastries.

Table decorations this year was divvied out to anyone or any group that wanted to ''do a table''. We have so many talented people, and table decorations were simple to extravagant.

See what I mean....

Some of our crafty hikers brought their wares and we did a vendor setup

Something I really need to remember for next year is take more pic's of All...the...FOOD!

There was Way more food than this...

Caroling,

A few took advantage of the indoor track, while others went on a downtown walk in the light drizzle rain.

Last count given to me was 42 confirmed,

as you can see a Lot more ended up coming,

I'm beyond blessed to know these ladies. In lieu of doing any kind of 'gift exchange' everyone donates a toy to my Dash for Dolls charity. We send toy & or blanket gifts to all parts of Ky that are in need. My charity partner Ambrose wife passed away in 2019 from Alzheimer's and this was a thing she alone did for many years around their home base area at Christmas time. When he asked if I would or could be a part of collecting dolls, I talked him into creating a 501c3. Thanks to connections within the state government, we were able to have our charity status within weeks instead of months [KUDOS to me] - which in part began our race event as well. I also told Ambrose if I was a part of it we were getting stuff for boys as well...and so here with the Hikers help Dols, Toys & a few blankets were collected.

To finish off the afternoon a group photo of everyone,
