Saturday's Scenes

The 3:30 am wake-up was extremely rude!

But, up I am, headed to run in the Heatwave race. 10K for me Half-Marathon for the kid[s]
Even though its Oh...So...Early...my socks says it all.
While waiting, I noticed flashes of
in the distance.
The Kid & her BRF picked me up at 4:30am and off we went, it was raining some while heading in the direction of the race. Just before we turned onto the highway it came absolutely pouring the rain!

The distance to the race was about 1 1/2 hours away, but after attempting to drive in the rain and the roads were starting to flood over, we finally pulled over into a parking lot...we had already driven 50 minutes, [not even halfway to race] and the rain/storm wasn't letting up. The Kid, her BRF and I discussed the safety for continuing -or- turning around and going back home.
We  turned around and came back home...After an hour though the weather was if nothing happened at all!! The sun was shining and everything was hunky dory. My poor Kid was really beating herself up about not going on to the race venue, but WE for sure did not need to be on the freeway during the stormy/pouring rain. Mr was really happy we didn't try and go on...so what did I do once home??
A plan was going around in hmy head as we were coming home, and here was the start, DINNER !
Roast Beef Tips on the bottom of the crockpot,
Hunk of Chicken breast in cooking bag along with my other potato on top. At least 3 1/2 meals cooking all at once. The house smelled amazing...

I also worked on Ambassador promotions, One for Pistol Ultra [including reserving a hotel room],

The other for Back your Badge...
Photo from last year's race.

I bleached off the kitchen counter and made breakfast tortilla wraps for MR,

2 bags of 10 each...Just egg on the wrap because...

I also made up a few bags of peppers/onions/cheese for him to add if he wants to.
He also can add sausage as he wants.

Next, I marveled in the fact I had a clean spot on the desk...
Hey, its a start...

PurrBuddies keeping a watchful eye on things,
Goober and Queen.

Though I didn't race this morning and didn't walk/run once the weather cleared, I did get a lot of ''stuff'' accomplished and set up for my week. Mr comes home soon, so winding down for today. Early bedtime, and regroup for a Sunday reSet tomorrow.

I hope and pray everyone is safe and sound....
