Not a Typical Sunday...

So a Long time ago I seen this race advertised and 🤔 though 🤔 Huh...Why Not !! So I signed up. I've never done any type of trail race event so knew this would be an automatic PR for me.  After a month or so I texted the usual subject aka The Kid and told her about the race and I would love her to come with me...
she then texted a couple of Her usual subjects and here we are..
Front L-R the Kid & Myself
Back L-R Tyler & Zack..Tyler BTW is also my awesome vet!

Now I wasn't going into this race with very high exceptions for myself, the kids have already competed in some kind of trail race[s]. The race had a 3mile 'untimed' race then the 5 mile timed event. We arrived and I was pleasantly surprised at how many were there, and several from my Lexington area runner kids. They had a couple of vendors there which was awesome, I specifically asked if they would be set up until the very last runner was finished [talking about me]. Which they said Of Course!  One however was not and that's a whole other post paragraph ugh!
Runners lined up and crossed a start line only to find out there was another start line next to the trail, oops! Off we went...3Mile & 5Mile mixed all together. Then I noticed there were a lot more 5 milers than I anticipated..Ok..it was fine and I was fine. Then the pact of runners became down to only a ''few'' runners. The trail was very well marked so I wasn't worried I mean I do occasionally Hike so know [sorta] how to watch for signs & tree markers.
Then it happened. The split! 3 milers one way - 5 milers opposite my chance of changing my mind. But I didn't, I continued on the trail but my runner girl Karen stayed with me...🤔Hmmm?? Come to find out she was the Sweeper.
That meant I was LAST!!
She gave me so much encouragement! I so appreciate her more than she knows. Giving me all kinds of tips & strategies for trail ''running''.
From crossing through creeks, or going through muddy spots I learned a Lot!
More Muddy spots before crossing the creek
The trail itself was amazing! Very well kept, not a lot of debris to watch out for.

The Trail was a loop?? but I swear I didn't remember going across this bridge when I started.

I finished, yes last [ I thought ] and earned a really cute medal
I even did a video while on the trail [who am I ?? ]
Another lesson from Karen trail running can be over🔁 or under what  the advertised race says...My Garmin recorded 5.63 miles. I'd be mad if I was charged for the extra mileage JusSayin 🤣!
All in all I had fun, I sweat more than I expected and used different muscles than when I do regular walk/run activities.

I'm beyond pleased with my time.
Because... the Kid and Zack finished just a MINUTE before me
Well, a Minute:10... Feaking ''A'' people! Not bad for 70 if I do say so.
Will I do this race again?? Probably, well Yes!

WOW!!!
I think I'm a 'Trail Runner'
[ maybe ]

*****
Back home to reality finding our 'Big Guy' with a injury to his nose...

Not sure what I'm going to do with this boy...
we need to try and catch him and get neuter/shots for him...

*****
Home to get a hot-soothing shower-eat lunch-and just relax!
Well best laid plans as they say, I signed up for another race [sigh]
🤷 Why Not 🤷

******
Tomorrow is a New Day and I'll get meandering mile in for the #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS challenge and go from there for the rest of the month. I have Plenty of races yet to do, and if there happens to be another that catches my eye, I'll do that too!

Race Results are Here-->Run Wild Results

Disappointed there's not any Race Photos of me...😢
