Blog 365 Friday January 6th

It was a Good Day to have a Great Day...the sun shined today even though it was cooler. Started with today's devotional passage from author Ann Spangler. Though I stated I was going/wanting to read the Bible in a year I have yet to actually start..😔..BUT, I will get it started and play a bit of 'catch-up' as the weeks go by. I still go to my Wednesday & Thursday Bible Studies so at least I'm doing something...right?

As I read through the daily passages I'm picking out and highlighting words or sentences that gives me the warm fuzzy feeling. Today it was this ''the irony of Spirit-filled living is that we have to give Up power in order to gain a Greater Power''
**********
Then it was off to pick up these beauties...well beauties to me. My friend Katie FB posted about giving these away and I was lucky enough to reply before anyone else. Now ''I'' don't need them for myself, but being the planning/organizing/scheduling person I am I got them for this year's 2023 Hiking Christmas Potluck..[yes, I'm one of those people]. I've already hit the clearance sale racks a Wally World and bought a few items to be used for door prizes and table decorations. Everything is just sitting [upstairs] just waiting on me to re-organize for December!

**********
Next, I went to our local extension office for their first, since covid, Lunch & Learn session. They've brought them back stating today and will do a different recipe on first Fridays of each month. Apparently, they are going to do random prize drawings. Today the lady who actually won said she had 3 crockpots already and didn't need another...🙋...I spoke up and was gifted it! #YAY

**********
Afterwards, I went to the park to walk. Remember the 'training' I needed to start? Well, it's going! My plan is to only Walk 8-12 miles a week for the first 3 weeks of January then reassess how I feel. Hopefully I'll then add a little 'running' into the mix of miles. Re-building my cardio slow & steady. I think my only issue will be when I'm in AZ next month. I'll tackle that later.

**********
Note to self don't try start the sport watch after pausing...

hence why there's 2 events in 1 day.

But at least my 2nd mile time was better than my first mile, LOL.

Time to get this posted and take the G'daughter to work!

Catch up Post #8 3-31-12 Run the Bluegrass Half/Full Marathon

Sarah, Bobbie and Shalin before the race

Bobbie met up a fellow blogger Courtney

Race Bling!!

yet another runner 'girl' Carmen

my girls are off ~ lookin all Happy now we'll see how they are in 13.1 miles!!

Yea! got to see my niece Jessica as well! Didn't know she signed up for this!?!

Not so Happy lookin now, still waiting on Sarah

Jason already came through and as always goes to find his wife and runner 'daughter' Angela!

re-fueling after the race chocolate milk was provided after the race

Bless her Heart! She was having a difficult time getting her compression socks on,
and I was No Help either (yes I was laughing while she struggled!)

Bobbie was so wanting a sub 2:00, but not this time around. I continue to be a Proud Momma though! She still amazes me every time she steps foot on the race course. As for Sarah (thought I forgot didn't you) well she was about 5-6 miles in and twisted her ankle on the side of the race course so she ended up being picked up by the EMT's and taken back to her car after treatment. Unfortunately I completely zoned out and didn't think about Courtney again, but please go to her blog and check her out as well, @http://3xacharmrunner.blogspot.com.

2011 first--

OK blog world I'm going to try this yet again!!! As everyone knows I'm a runners mom...yep that's my daughter on the left..this bit of craziness is out of character for her and it's attributed to being under the peer pressure of her friend (one of my newly acquired runner daughters) Sheri. As you can see they are dressed for running in the 2011 New Year..!
Along with running in the New Year - (are they not the cutest!?!)they both thought of goals they each wanted to accomplish (do) during the year...peer pressure again has my baby signing up for a full marathon...that's right were talking 26.2 miles!!! So not only is she crazy but insane as well..
There haven't been any races to report on since last year but there is one coming up next month..I'm the official Cheerleader, pic Historian, keeper of stuff and basically the MOM...so with that race I will be reporting on the race, how she and the rest of my runner girls have done and will include as many pics as I can figure out how to post. I will update with what ever training is going on as much as I can...until later I'm one of the luckiest women I know 'cause I'm "arunnersmom"!!

What a week!!!

This has been the longest short week I've had in a long time. Still trying to get caught up with everything and as always if it doesn't get done it will still be there tomorrow...HA! It was a steady pace at work so that helped alot. I've been able to come home and try to get this or that done before going on to my "other home". I was able to surprize the kids by showing up when they all met to train this week..there was going to be a 5K race on Saturday in Lancaster,I have the best time watching and listening to all of them..they each have something in common but yet so opposite. There were six of them in all with G'man as one of them...he runs to not only get the excercise but to also be with Bobbie, awwww! (she knows how lucky she is) They get a plan and take off! It was like being in high school again sitting uptown hanging out on the corner watching people go by, man it brought back memories. I figured I had 40-50 minutes before their return. I was talking to my brother when OMG! they're finished already? Well first it was Gerard & Twilla..and I didn't have not 1 drop of water for them! It was sorry Jim gotta go and get some H2O...thank goodness for "Bluegrass Pizza & Pub" Gerard' friend Melissa is the owner so I ordered 6 glasses a didn't care how much it cost had my debit card ready when next thing I know her husband and one of the waiters are serving the water to all the kids across the street..at no charge! Now that's service!! After sitting there resting, talking, laughing and gossiping we all finally leave to go home..it was 10:30pm when I made it. I really appreciate the fact that my daughter has always had the best group of people around her while in school and now as an adult...It may have helped that I was the mean Mom, but fair..and everyone hung out at the house. I have more to catch up on but it's late and I have a trip to get ready for.......

PS-Saturdays race resulted with 1st place trophy' for Bobbie, Katrina and Twilla! Way to go ladies....,

I'm a runner's MOM!!
