Can't Wait for the Holiday's ---

TO BE DONE!!!

Lets face it, it's been a long year for all of us but me in particular, challenging may be the best description. From the beginning of the year till now I've struggled with figuring out a plan. In hindsight I think I put to much stress on myself thus making everything I did either ''just under the wire'' or behind.
Something else I figured out was if I'm discombobulated at home, I'm that way every where else. So with the living room getting painted and a kitchen remodel going on it sent me in quite a tailspin. PLUS the fact that the MR started the back splash project (thank goodness he didn't finish) and we come really close to having the FiRsT  argument ever. Ya'see he's not a plan ahead and get it done person, he starts where the middle is and wings it. That's ok for some things but not for something that I'm going to be looking at for the next 20+ years. Info background==the back splash is silver panels that have a pattern on them, I was going to make a template with copy paper and lay them out to start the project. The MR starts near the beginning and it went downhill from there....I'll finish this story later.
Thanksgiving has come and gone with it being held at the Mr & I's house for the first time. Though our house is smaller (a Lot) it was still ok. Two of my girls and their families were not able to come so it wasn't as crowded cramped. Christmas was a little different only one daughter and her family wasn't able to come due to my poor little grandson had the flu--his entire Christmas break from school. It was fun for everyone and these silly kids of mine again didn't follow the instructions.....MOM (aka me) didn't want them spending $$ on us! Did they listen..that would be a No!! Silly Brats, All of Them, LOL!!

Run the Bluegrass~Momawrazzi view

Rising early again on a Saturday morning doing a gear check of the camera equipment, this time including a blanket, book, lemon water and snack of homemade trail mix. It's 'Run the Bluegrass Half Marathon' day.  It's exciting for me since this is the first Half my SIL will be competing in. Unfortunately he hurt his knee last week during one of the training runs, but says that it's a lot better and is running anyway.
Most of the drive there was foggy, and still so foggy that they delayed the race 15 min since they run on Old Frankfort Pike road, safety first!  During the delay mayor Jim Gray of Lexington announced that there were 4000 runner/walkers registered for the race,
representing 43 states and 6 foreign countries....
how cool is that!!

The delay also worked out well for me so that I could find a good spot for pictures, I love, love, love the excitement of all the runners in anticipation of the race starting. I enjoy the way everyone interacts with each other sharing their concerns about the course, checking out who is in what corral, listening to the pep talks,
did I mention that there were 4000 runners!!

Of Course we need a group photo,

Kim competed in the 7 mile run...

Jason as always still with a smile on his face...

David, not so much fun for him...

David Baker on point with his focus...

Jeremy enjoying the cheer section...

Twila conquered the hills again this year...

My 'SIL' killer hills for his first Half...

Jeremy goes back to finish with his wife Crystal,
she has done so well getting back on her ...

David good form at the finish...

Ricky finishing strong...

Bobbie (my baby) in the pink with Kelli in the yellow,
they have been friends forever,

Carmen she is so awesome...

Rebekah one of Bobbie' friends from school,
this is her first BIG race since having her baby last year...

The races are always a fun time for me. I love being with the kids and talking to other people that are  followers of runners.
The camaraderie between the runners the friendships they develop will last them for a lifetime.

Daunting Days! But I'm still a winner!

Life is stressful, well mine seems to be at times. I'm trying to fit it all in with little luck thus far, but, I'm making it through another day and will adjust to my time struggles. I know that I need to be willing to make decisions on what is the most important thing for me.
One important thing for me has been being able to attend my "grandsons" basketball games. My 'one and Only' male grand child and he's AWESOME! It makes me well up in tears every time he comes running to get hugs and kisses from me. I Just Love this kid!! He says he doesn't want to do basketball next year, but does want to play soccer and do Cross Country we'll see, you know how kids can be, either way if at all possible the Mommaw will be there.

My work life has become hectic to say the least, some weeks are 50+ hours some are only 37.5 hours. When I do get the OT it's several days in a row and can sometimes last consecutive weeks in a row. It's great to have a job in this economy and my extra hours are my fault, (I ask for them) so whats the answer? Broke or some extra moolah?

I have arranged my breaks in order to try and get my steps in during the day which has work to some degree but there's the whole sit down and take a break thing that's not happening and with my job being sorta physical it gets tiring. Missed several home work-outs this week (as in walking on the treadmill), my fault, wanted to spend the time with H2B while he was off.

My runner kids are in training mode and haven't done many races this year, 1 in January that I still need to post about which will be this week and another coming up next weekend.

In closing I want to share this quote I found in Success Magazine,
"winners habitually face the work of the day with the purpose of discovering what can be done instead of worrying about what cannot be done"--Paul Meyer

What a week!!!

This has been the longest short week I've had in a long time. Still trying to get caught up with everything and as always if it doesn't get done it will still be there tomorrow...HA! It was a steady pace at work so that helped alot. I've been able to come home and try to get this or that done before going on to my "other home". I was able to surprize the kids by showing up when they all met to train this week..there was going to be a 5K race on Saturday in Lancaster,I have the best time watching and listening to all of them..they each have something in common but yet so opposite. There were six of them in all with G'man as one of them...he runs to not only get the excercise but to also be with Bobbie, awwww! (she knows how lucky she is) They get a plan and take off! It was like being in high school again sitting uptown hanging out on the corner watching people go by, man it brought back memories. I figured I had 40-50 minutes before their return. I was talking to my brother when OMG! they're finished already? Well first it was Gerard & Twilla..and I didn't have not 1 drop of water for them! It was sorry Jim gotta go and get some H2O...thank goodness for "Bluegrass Pizza & Pub" Gerard' friend Melissa is the owner so I ordered 6 glasses a didn't care how much it cost had my debit card ready when next thing I know her husband and one of the waiters are serving the water to all the kids across the street..at no charge! Now that's service!! After sitting there resting, talking, laughing and gossiping we all finally leave to go home..it was 10:30pm when I made it. I really appreciate the fact that my daughter has always had the best group of people around her while in school and now as an adult...It may have helped that I was the mean Mom, but fair..and everyone hung out at the house. I have more to catch up on but it's late and I have a trip to get ready for.......

PS-Saturdays race resulted with 1st place trophy' for Bobbie, Katrina and Twilla! Way to go ladies....,

I'm a runner's MOM!!
