#11 catch up post 4-28-12 Derby Half/Full Marathon

The night before full/half marathons there's an expo of some degree.
Getting included in these means spending more time with my young'un.
See the shirt she's wearing, my way of reminding her
she can do anything she sets her mind too!

Finding Sarah in the holding coral, Sarah was doing the full 26.2,
Whew! I'm tired just writing it, LOL!!

After hugs, kisses, Good Luck wishes, and PLEASE Be Safe,
I always look back to see them one last time before
I head out to try and find a good photo opportunity spot,
most times I head for a halfway point to get pics of all my kids.

Funny fellow here!

Mosaic Serpent under a walk bridge.

Yea! got to see my niece Jessica as well! Didn't know she signed up for this!?!

Not so Happy lookin now, still waiting on Sarah

Jason already came through and as always goes to find his wife and runner 'daughter' Angela!

re-fueling after the race chocolate milk was provided after the race

Bless her Heart! She was having a difficult time getting her compression socks on,
and I was No Help either (yes I was laughing while she struggled!)

Bobbie was so wanting a sub 2:00, but not this time around. I continue to be a Proud Momma though! She still amazes me every time she steps foot on the race course. As for Sarah (thought I forgot didn't you) well she was about 5-6 miles in and twisted her ankle on the side of the race course so she ended up being picked up by the EMT's and taken back to her car after treatment. Unfortunately I completely zoned out and didn't think about Courtney again, but please go to her blog and check her out as well, @http://3xacharmrunner.blogspot.com.

My Crazy Girl...

Soooo.. my 5K, half-marathon, rain, thunder storm, gale force wind, snow, ice, heat stroke temps, runner daughter (in the blue) is now competing in virtual races ?!? WTH...like where did this competitiveness come from?? As she N*E*V*E*R participated in any extra curricular activities when she was in school...this is a side of her that only has come out since 2009 (she and her co-workers competed in a 5K race during a local festival)...and started running the following weekend!!!
Now granted she has made a lot of friends while running and one of my 'runner daughters' Sheri (in the white) has become one of her Bestie's - though there's some peer pressure-hence the virtual runs (who does that?).
As a child I was fortunate that she had-chose?-really good friends to be in her life as well as allowing me to be a part of theirs..being the 'cool' mom, the one that they could and would come too when ever they needed to, and now in her adult life she still has a group of Bestie's that any Mother would be proud of having in their life - again - the ladies have included me in their lives being witness to goals met, children's accomplishments, work, husbands....well just life in general.
So virtual or not my 5K,half-marathon, rain, thunder storm, gale force wind, snow, ice heat stroke temps runner daughter(s)are the best daughters any 'runnersmom' could have.!

Oh yeah guess who is the cheerleader, picture taking historian all the while there is a 5K,half-marathon, rain, thunder storm, gale force wind, snow, ice, and heat stroke temps...that's right 'arunnersmom'!!

2011 first--

OK blog world I'm going to try this yet again!!! As everyone knows I'm a runners mom...yep that's my daughter on the left..this bit of craziness is out of character for her and it's attributed to being under the peer pressure of her friend (one of my newly acquired runner daughters) Sheri. As you can see they are dressed for running in the 2011 New Year..!
Along with running in the New Year - (are they not the cutest!?!)they both thought of goals they each wanted to accomplish (do) during the year...peer pressure again has my baby signing up for a full marathon...that's right were talking 26.2 miles!!! So not only is she crazy but insane as well..
There haven't been any races to report on since last year but there is one coming up next month..I'm the official Cheerleader, pic Historian, keeper of stuff and basically the MOM...so with that race I will be reporting on the race, how she and the rest of my runner girls have done and will include as many pics as I can figure out how to post. I will update with what ever training is going on as much as I can...until later I'm one of the luckiest women I know 'cause I'm "arunnersmom"!!

Just what was I thinking?

Of course October has come and gone! And it's now the middle of November good golly time flies when your having fun right? Yea Right! The thing is, keeping up with all the other blogs (which are great) time has got away from me. I have just now seen my daughter' recent post to her blog (bobbie087.blogspot.com) and I can now officially say she has not only inherited the crazy gene she has the INSANE one as well!! She and one of her running buddies have now decided to run a full marathon (26.2) next may in Cincinnati. I know that I have been fortunate in raising her, she has made good decisions, is accomplished in her job, and have surrounded herself with a diverse group of friends during her school years and through out her life. But come on 26.2? Is she trying to give me a heart attack? Oh Oh and lets not forget she has also decided to put together a team of runners to compete in the Bourbon Chase next year we are talking about 200 miles people. Don't get me wrong I'm proud of her and all that she has done but as a mom I still fret and worry. Am I the only mom that is so protective of her child? I recently read somewhere that gray hair is "stress" highlights...guess I better call my hair dresser and set up some appointments looks like I'm going to need some color....!

My 1st post

Here it is, another day of getting up early to do what you might ask? Well I'm a runners Mom!! My daughter started this 5K running thing last year after competing (she walked) in a local festival walk/run event. She along with co-workers completed the walk and for some unforeseen reason was taken in by those who ran ! Well alrighty then..but when she told me about her accomplishment of course being the Mom I am I told her "if I had known I would have been there!" As the late Paul Harvey would say "And the rest is history". There have been many races and rewards as well...With this being my fist blog I will go back to my pictorial records and attempt a historical saga of my runner daughter along with friends she has made and her accomplishments. I tell her though no matter what just for getting out there your a winner----but then of course as a biased bystander she will always be my winner!!
