Another 'new' for me race venue at Elkwood Farm in Midway which will eventually also become the home for Bluegrass Distillers. The House was short of amazing...
as you can see the front porch was Massive...
inside is going through a Major reconstruction/restoration...
I love the 'old' wallpaper and hope they keep some to frame, original floors in the house are in great shape and have beautiful design workmanship...
The main entrance to inside is where you see the first winding staircase, from the front door there were 'square' door openings to four other rooms,
inside is going through a Major reconstruction/restoration...
lots of original hardware throughout the house
[Antique door Knocker]
Original bi-fold doors...
and ornate fire place features...
Original build-ins in various rooms....
heaters with amazing decorative detail in the rooms...
even the water heater will be ''up graded'' and they're hopeful to get it restored and working,
photos and maps were found and restored.....
just 👀Look at these staircases....can you picture a Bride coming down them?? I sure can.
the only other Arch door is upstairs
and there was only one window with an arch.
The house will be a show piece once it's finished, which they're hoping to be done in 9ish months....

Enough on the gorgeous house, lets talk about the race. Again as I said it was a new venue for me to work taking race/run photos. The Start/Finish line was setup,
volunteers were quickly getting packets & race bibs handed out,
Bob did one more check for hydration station set-up, [sorry DJ James if your reading I didn't get your pic 😞] But we had 4-legged runners....
Proceeds from the race will benefit Midway History Museum. We appreciate your participation and donations. Midway Museum, Inc. is a 501(c)-3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historical legacy of Midway, Kentucky. Since April 2022, Midway Museum volunteers have operated a museum and visitors center in the City Hall building at 101 East Main Street. The Museum has an active Facebook information page and exchange group. All in all the race was unique, amazing and I can't wait to return to this venue area next year...
Bob got everyone started and unfortunately it was a false start...#oops where the runners were suppose to turn cars was parked on the course... so another start had to happen.
we had a Great turn-out!
Love seeing my 'senior' runners..Bernie & Leo
1st place finisher Will LaFavers from right here in Danville....
my RaceRise Buddy Verne
Sarah a good friend from FCC church
of course the ''Kid'' & Shana one of her BRF's
skipping to the finish won them free race entries!!
DJ James challenged these to run with the loser to buy lunch...
one tumble later she also won a free race entry.
We now have a Specialty Hydration Bowl for the Canines after they finish their race...
Overall Awards were so Cool...
along with 2nd & 3rd place overall's
