Blog 365 ~ Feline Friday ~ Sinking Fund Update

Morning Cuddles with my Boy Jinx
I had quite the Busy Day yesterday..
All I can say is October is kicking my 😏 you know what😏

**********

--> Below is a quick Sinking Fund update<--

*Car maintenance 100$ [upped amt to 150$ may need new battery for winter]
[Battery for Ethel is around 180$ - so another change - 60$to-go]

*Hair 400$ [upped amt to 500$ due to new hair dresser]
balance of 163$/337$ to go
[I made the decision to NOT color my hair anymore, $saving$]

*Vet/Pet Care 350$
balance of 245$/105$ to go
[Thank goodness all the Purr'kids are healthy]

*Indoor/Outdoor Improvements 800$ [2024 item, upped to 1000$]
[Used cash from here for Dues/Sponsorships]
balance of 157$/843$ to go

*Travel 4000$ [trips added, upped to 4400$ I have 3 booked in 2024,
may need to re-evaluate again due to G'Kid trips]
balance 2130$/2270$ to go
[Travel SF will definitely be significantly higher in 2024 - 3 trips booked and at least 8 Race'cations planned]

*Promotional materials 1500$
[Promo items purchased for 2 race events]
balance 145$/1355$ to go

I need 4970$ to meet SF 2023 goals...I don't think THAT is going to happen, but I'll put a small dent in each before the end of the year. All in All, I'm pleased as to where I am. I could have put more in each of my categories, but instead did some Major Freezer/Pantry re-stocking. 2024 Sinking Funds will most likely be similar in amounts, with Travel being the biggest change so roughly 9000$ is the total goal. I currently have a CC balance that I'm also aggressively paying off [stupid Credit reports lower your rating when you don't owe anyone Go Figure!]. Christmas Budget $ Monies $ is already in Savings account & I have a 500$ ''pad'' in my checking.  Holiday meals will also be scaled back due to work schedules for the G'kids, what will matter is that we are together.

**********
Tonight I'm headed for the first of 5 photography event/opportunities. Monster Mash & Dash is another inaugural race supporting Recovery Cafe in Lexington....150+ are signed up with a Trunk & Treat for the kiddo's. I'm looking forward to it and plan on having So. Much. Fun taking pic's of everyone in costume. Tomorrow will consist of Race in the morning [Lexington], race here in my Hometown, then I'm taking Homecoming photos for my youngest G'daughter...Sunday after church I'll be doing photos for my 'Foster' daughter and 2 of her friends for their 50th Birthday's....Shewee I'm tired just writing & thinking about it all. I'll try and get the blog updated as I go, πŸ˜‰ or not!

Blog 365 ~ Thursday Thoughts

I Thought the Early:Thirty morning was for no particular reason, other than I was done with sleeping. It did however give me the opportunity to get the basic household stuff done...

I Thought since I was up and getting things check off my list I may as well get a project for the hubby done...signs for the Gift Shop where he works.

I Thought these were appropriate for today...

I Thought 'Why Not' do a quick pose....I felt really good this morning...

I Thought the decorations and flowers around town were so Cute!

I Thought 'Let's get it Done Today!
I Thought signing up for the Virtual 5K was a good Idea...
And It was as I also earned the 5-year Legacy Cup....

Blog 365 ~ Thursday Thoughts

Shew it's EARLY !!!
I've been trying to remember to get a photo of the 'new' corner lights downtown....though not the best since we were driving through but I'm thinking we could now land a plane on main street with all the lighting we have.

We are headed for the Big city of Louisville.....
6 month follow-up blood flow leg scans.

He's been recommended by his surgeon to be part of a P.A.D. research study...
I feel there's lots of potential for him regarding his legs.
It's a 3 month trial which means 'extra' trips to Louisville [no biggie], he did his ''step/walk'' intro while waiting to be seen by regular Dr/surgeon. We will go next week for blood/urine testing and get the study supplement Carnosine.

After the research tech & Dr follow-up we were headed home....
again it was a early start.
We stopped at Cracker Barrel for a late breakfast. I'm so proud of this man of mine...here's though he's on his phone, we try our best not to be during meal times, he's getting 'work stuff' in order. I need to add a blog post about him and his job & volunteer stuff.

We're doing a belated Anniversary [10YEARS!!] dinner tonight and I have a million and one things to do and still need to prep for tomorrow's HRC Summit so will sign off for now. Hope everyone is having a great October so far, it seems to be going by quickly....

Blog 365 ~ Tidbit Tuesday

 A few things from MonDay,

I forgot to share in yesterday's HHM that I was already in catch-up mode and October has JUST started😁Oh Geesh...

I managed to get a park walk in with Gal Pal Margaret. She's been gone 🚒 Cruising 🚒 and just got back. So taking advantage of the time she's here to get caught up before leaving on yet 'another' Cruise.
Home long enough to get the leaves blown off the yard before heading to πŸ‘‡
Silver Sneaker class...unfortunately I didn't realize it was going to be Leg day and I've already done 2 miles this morning....Annnd, heading for a 4 miler tonight more on that in a minute...

A Few things MonNight...

FLAT RUBY aka A Runners Mom and More
I knew it was going to get dusk/dark out for my race tonight so wanted something that would show up.
All of the items are my ''go-to's'' during training/races. SheFit sports bra is adjustable everywhere and can be adjusted on the run [pun intended, LOL], My Soxy Feet socks are the only socks on the market that keep my 'sweaty feet' dry while walk/running [visor from them too], Bolder Athletic Wear is the Rose skirt and the best thing ever! It has built in shorts with pockets and a zipper pocket at the waist. Not pictured I had my Flip water bottle, Honey Stinger gel, Shokz headphones, and bib belt.
Originally, I was going to drive myself to the race which was in Louisville 1hr45min away. I had my alarm set early enough to leave and not only find the place but do bib pick-up, potty and scope out the where's & what for's. This race has always been one I've tried to get the kid to do but wouldn't?!? So, I put it on MY bucket list of races to do for me. When the alarm went off and I started getting ready, the hub's asked if I was REALLY going?? Well, Yeah! I paid for the race and unless something dramatic happens I'm not wasting my money by not going..... I seen some reluctance in his face and body language, but he got his stuff together and off ''we'' went. I explained to him I could get there okay and wasn't going to push myself, but no dice he wanted to make sure!
Admittedly, it could have been a bit tricky finding just where to go if I drove myself, but we found where PPU was, parked the car with plenty of time to spare. I attached the bib along with pennies representing my Dad [Canadian penny] & one for Papaw [aka step-dad]. This is something I started doing earlier this year. I just feel them and occasionally see signs they're watching over me.
Thanks to the hubby for my pre-race picture...
The Sports Commission did an Amazing Job!! The 4 miler was race #2 of a series...
The race Capped off at 550---473 showed up!!
One of them was Carol Westerman. I normally am 'taking' her photo at races.

It got hot/humid Fast!! The course was surrounded by the beautiful trees and forestry, paved road until you hit the SpookTacular finish line area portion....

These are just some of the photos I was able to get and still keep going....
There are 5000+ carved pumpkins!!

At the entrance of the Display I did a ''short'' video, but Blogger is telling me it's to large to post...πŸ˜’. Oh well. Today I was suppose to go hike with my CCE grp. No Way was that happening, LOL. I didn't rest well [to psyc'd up] because...just before I laid down I found out via the web site that I placed 2nd in my age groupπŸ˜„ !! I was floored. I never imagined I could do that. I'm quite proud of myself and this confirms that I can do hard things. I have a 'training' plan made and last night proves I'm going to be able to continue doing hard things that I have planned for myself.... Stay tuned and come along for this ride I'm on.

Until next time.
