2017 New Year, New Month, New Day = NEW ME!!

Tap, Tap, Tap.....anybody out there?? Here I go again, starting over isn't hard to do its the keeping on that I struggle with. No MORE!! I've got to get better at ME!  My word for the 2017 New Year is this

I've had a lot of stuff going on in 2016 and plan on more stuff (constructive) in this brand New Year. There are so many blogs and self-help site designed for improving ones self, but guess what
"I" know what I want to do,
"I" know how to do it,
"I" just need to GET WITH "IT"!

First things first, I ended 2016 with of course a race with the Young'un...the Resolution 5K typically is on Jan 1st but this year the Timers (3WR) changed it up and did the race on the EVE of the New Year. We got to the venue/race hotel and was quite surprised there really wasn't much of a crowd, Hmmm this typically is a Big race event as it starts the Race Running Season...and I'm wondering where are all the runners?? 'Cause you know runners run Regardless of the weather!!
From previous events with the Timers I again reached out for the possibility of doing their race photography......well after several weeks of NO response I ended up signing the Kid so she could keep her streak going as this is her 5th year (I think) running it. Though I had fully intended on taking pictures of the runners when we were getting ready to head for the Start line one of the timers 'informed' me to just send a Link when I have the pics loaded and they would post them.  Yea well with that remark I'm thinking if the pics aren't worth the entry price for the kid, your probably not going to get any, as it was so cold with wind blowing that was EXACTLY what happened.. ..I waited for 'my' runner kids to start and then went inside where oh yes it was warmer & toastier. I walked the hotel taking pics of the various decorations and made it back out side just in time to see my Baby coming up the hill to the start line. Snapped a couple of pics waited for her to come to me, shooed her on into the hotel and I waited for my other runners to finish then I went back in where it was warm...
138 Runners competed in a race that past history had 300+, Champagne Flutes to all the finishers Mimosas for those over 21 and awards were 3WR planners...don't judge...it was something.

Happy New Year! Here's to a New Month starting tomorrow, a New Day and to a New ME!

Not a Slacker!!

OK folks I know it's been like forever since my last post, and as always the fine line between life's balances still are a struggle. The bullets will give you all an outline of things -not in order- that have been going on, so that you know I haven't been a slacker,
  • a nephew has found me after 30+ years, (it's been about that long since I last seen him-Long story as to why too come) corresponding through FB at this point,
  • work, plus some OT, take it when I can,
  • engagement picture photo shoot for my friends Rhonda and Trinadad, sooo much fun and the pictures were good considering I do mainly 'action' sport photos,
  • the H2B and I had our own engagement pictures taken, this was a surprise for me, and now it's time to write up our announcement and get it to the paper,
  • finalized on the balance of the 'little things' that always sneaks up on you when planning a wedding, even a small one like we're having,
  • the ceiling guy finally made it (some our fault some his) to repair and patch all the ceilings in  order to paint before we get married,
  • my grand-son was Baptized, not that this took up a lot of time but it was exciting to be a part of and also witness,
  • took care of the grand-cats and the grand-dog while the kids were on vacation, this meant morning and night trips to their house, not that they live that far away from me but it's a new routine,
  • H2B had suit shopping on his list of things to do for the wedding, fun to say the least and can't wait to tell you about the socks,  freakin' hilarious,
  • Automate 30year anniversary photo shoot, this is where my SIL has worked for about 14 years,
  • we went to a local play at Pioneer Playhouse and took the MIL2B as well-such an historic and awesome place,
  • H2B has painted the ceilings-I supervised H2B calls it 'straw bossed' where ever that termed come from I have no clue, yes walls and trim will be painted too, bye bye ex-wife colors,
  • I did another photo shoot of my two oldest grand-daughters, really pleased with the pictures
  • wedding photographer for Rhonda & Trinidad-from mani's & pedi's to the cutting of the cake,
  • 1 golf scramble photo shoot benefiting Holly's House, oh yeah, I don't know squat about golf!
  • Six races, that's right "6"! Beef Festival 5K, Brass Band 5K, Capital City Stampede 10K, Twinkie Run 10K, Holly's House 5K, Firecracker 5K, and a partridge in a pear tree (you know you just sang that)
  • on top of all these things I've taken on providing pictures for Hope53 Ministries softball league. One of my runner kids-Ricky- is VP of this non-profit organization more about it later,
  • And let's not forget all the necessary day to day activities, you know laundry, meal prep, meal shopping, cleaning, etc. etc. etc.
So here it is in a nut shell---I 'm not a Slacker!!

#17 catch up post~6/2/12 Beef Festival 5K

Beef Festival 5K
Harrodsburg, Ky
This is where it all began, where my young'un started this adventure of walking then running. In 2009 Bobbie and her co-workers decided to walk the festival 5K, why, I don't know and she didn't tell me she was doing it. Afterwards for what ever reason she decides she's going to start doing more of it, which led her to having this phone conversation with me;

(her); Mom, I'm going to race this weekend and thought that if you wanted to come you can...
(me); Race? Race where?
(her); you know run a race.....
(me); uuhhh, run, you? where exactly are you running to?
(her); a 5K race....
(me); again-where are you running to?
(her); it's a 5K and I'm going to run in it, so if you want to go I can pick you up.
(me); well ok then, I guess, what time?

And that is what I've been asking her ever since....what time are you picking me up?

Now for those of you out there in blog-land keep in mind I was in all honestly a little skeptical about her and the 5K thing (more so after I looked up how long a 5K was) due to the fact this child of mine did NOTHING athletic during her school years, Zero, Nada, Zilch!!

So at her very first 'running' race I was there, her personal cheer leader, the holder of keys, jackets, bags, etc, camera ready with tears in my eyes as she came across the finish line. I was one Proud Momma!

And still after all these races I find my self tearing up when I see
'MY' child,
 my athlete runner daughter,
My biggest accomplishment in life,
My pride and joy coming in to the finish line.

It was later that I became known as "Momawrazzi" (this term came from Bobbie a two of the grand-kids)
and then also becoming "a runners mom".

Here are pics from the the past years....
Oh yeah I got plenty of them....
I'm a runner mom don't cha' know!!!

2010 her first PI at the race that she started her running career....go figure!
I need to do a post about this!

This time with more purpose and (wait for it) planning!!!

Good God, time has come and gone and Life has continued to move at warp speed!! Between work, relationship, trying to take of houses and the runner daughter it's been hectic to say the least. But guess what, so is everyone else and they have/make time to read others blogs. What will make the balance of the year and the coming year different,?, glad you asked. I'm excited about a meeting I had this past week with Andrew from Danville Bike and Footwear. He will be putting my runner pics with the race results from the 2012 race series!! And he had suggested that I/we do a blog of some kind. Um what?? Me?? O~M~G I'm so excited!
With that said here's what's going to happen...There will be updated posts in which I will choose a picture or a few pictures from the 2012 race season and make some comments to go along with the race. Now most people don't remember from one month to the next where they were let alone what they were doing, I though can remember at least something from all of the races due to my own 'runner daughter' Bobbie competing in them and I was there to document the race with pictures. This will catch up the races from this year and then we can start a fresh running season in 2013.

Wow! 2013 is just right around the corner - like in 44 days!

This time with more purpose and planning I hope to get a few followers and look forward to getting comments from the posts I make.

'a runners mom' just a part of who I am!
