Happy Homemaker Monday 2/17/20

Linking up with Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday

First of all Can you BELIEVE its already half way through February...time is flying by, at least for me it is. Keeping a busy schedule then **blink**... I do try and plan out where I'm going to be and what I'm doing, Including making time for the Mr and Family. Speaking of which one of my G'daughters and her BF recently bought a house in a neighboring town. They are young But 'old' minded [does that make sense?] She has come a Very long way from her early teen age years where we were not on the best of terms..At..All!
Risking everything I wanted for her I choose a Tough Love approach.. loosing her to addictive things was so incredibly hard.
I Prayed, texted, Prayed, texted again, repeating over and over how I still Loved her with all I had and would be there if and when she wanted me...
luckily after several years she responded and I cried.
Are we good now?? I say yes to this as she has come so far and has finally grown up realizing life is what YOU put in and make of it. There are NO hand outs. You get what you WORK for, lessons that I was teaching/giving her during those incredibility difficult hard years. So to you my 'MissB' my Sweetie Pie Sugar Plum I'm proud of you for growing up, continue being the independent hard-working woman that you are, and know my Love for you is Forever!

Unexpected appointment, But so glad I got in

This...this is what I think about my teeth and my Love ~ Hate ~ Love with my Dentist. People don't think when they see me just how 'sickly' I was as a kid. If a illness was a.n.y.w.h.e.r.e. near me I caught it and brought it home to the other kids [of course] ! Back in the olden days the treatment for most everything was Penicillin--like the REAL deal Penicillin and I took Lots of it. Little did people know the ramifications from taking so much would be detrimental to teeth health. So that, along with my pregnancy where my kid apparently sucked what ever was left of fluoride/calcium I had in me...left me with teeth rotting away and sensitive to anything cold. My dentist from years ago did what he could pulling [bastard on the chair arms pulling] and bonded my teeth. It took years for me to come to terms with the knowledge that all dentists Don't climb up on chair arms, hence my total disdain of dentists. Over the years I only went when Absolutely necessary, some because of money that I didn't have, mostly because I just Hate a dentist.
Moving to Kentucky the 'kid' was how I got my current dentist.
He is Wonderful ! As a dentist and as a Person. He does listen when I tell him I Hate You but Love you too! So over the last 30ish years I go when I HAVE to, he makes sure I know what All my options are, has performed right & left side top bridges, and couple root canals [I'd rather go through Natural childbirth than to do them] so when a couple weeks ago I noticed a 'swelling' in my gum I knew [insert Huge sigh] there's a abscess beginning...fearing the worst a root canal. I made the appointment and was going to wait it out, well, the abscess created quite the problem with eating and brushing said bad teeth. Making a call to see if there were cancellations only to be put on a -to call- list....they called can I come in at Wednesday12:30 Right smack dab in the middle of my Bible Study time. Umm sorry God my mouth & teeth hurts and off I went. Low and behold the tooth has to be pulled, 🙆go for it!
Then the plan was for the area to 'heal' 24-48 hrs and needed the pus sack to come out, and yeah of course HE could poke around and get it..VETO that idea...I paid the bill and headed home where I took LOTS of Ibuprofen and rested.

Here's what I did at home...
pulled that pus sack right on out ! #imABadAss

Followed up appointment 48 hrs later resulted in a bottom Bridge...Let the healing continue,
Dr Hankla Still Love/Hate you, Jus Say'n.

Tis the Season .....? + Happy Homemaker Monday

The season is upon us. The season of 2 weeks since the time changed and I'm still not adjusted.
The season of since before Trick or Treat stores were Full. On. Christmas....and just last week I seen a local store get their delivery of Valentine stuff.. VALENTINE for Goodness Sake!!
The season of trying to figure out Thanksgiving meal(s) and where do we go? What do we Fix? What 'other' day works for [insert whoever]??
Tis the season of Friendsgiving invites, RunGiving meal invites and the idea of  Black Friday [Shoot.Me.Now] Shopping - to quote Heather Land 'I ain't doing it' !
And speaking of shopping, Christmas is 37 Days away...
37...tis the Season.
Have you started? Are you a Black Friday Shopper? Online Shopper? Christmas gift Shop for yourself? This 'Tis the Season' for me will happen as I do my meal planning ahead of time by asking each what special dish do they want, there's a Cut Off time. If they respond great, if not.....well eat what's on the table or not you decide.
Tis the Season of already working on 2020 race planning, photography &/or walk-running a few.
Tis the Season of wading through all the Medicare information, happy that the Hubby is 6 months older and I piggy-backed on his meeting so that 95% of my ordeal is complete and I finish the balance in January.
Tis the season that I work more at getting A Runner's Mom and More recognized,
with the Blog and with the 1230AM-WHIR Radio Segment.
Tis the Season that I will continue to save more, get busy with budgeting, plan ahead for 2020 home projects.
Tis the Season I look forward to doing a bit of travel, trip to my home state to see my brother, thinking about a possible girls trip, and a few runcations are already planned.

Busy Is As Busy Does...Jus'Say'n - Trick or Treat

Geez oh Pete!! Am I the only one ready for the year to be over?? Lot's of 'Stuff' happening for me, which now has me wondering if I'm up for the challenges of a much busier schedule....I had someone tell me it's OK to say NO. And please believe me I've said it a lot lately. But there's so much I want to do, not necessarily need to do but I want to Do. So guess what...I'll just sit down and get it figured out, sit down with my trusty pen and paper and make a list, a plan, a schedule.

I was asked to do a Re-launch of my A Runners Mom and More FB page and get my Blog rolling again DamnitI mean Dang'It...I was surprised either had been missed. Huh! So here goes Nut'n and the link to the 'ol FB page, A Runners Mom & More I've posted a list with races I will be at for the month of November along with discount code RUNMOM10 for each....
now on to other things.

I will take credit on the fact that I've done well at getting and keeping the spending/savings on track, #goMe though I don't follow a Dave Ramsey, Rachel Cruze or Suze Orman plan I have managed to have monies set aside for the upcoming holidays and $plan$ for a race weekend in December with my runner girls. Yes I still use my credit card and have made payments on time, but I do that to get reward points, which is turned into Kroger Cash.

Surprisingly 'The Kid' organized a Bourbon Chase team this year, a team of 12 runners completing 200 miles along the Ky Bourbon trail. What an adventure this was with her ! I have to admit she did very well at getting a team together (2 were from Calif and stayed with me), setting up the team FB page and keeping everyone informed. How Ever 'ol Mom here did her share too. I'm fortunate to have some great friends and 'the Kid' has an Awesome Uncle. I was able to get sponsorship $$ to cover E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G from vans, dinner for the meet & greet, snacks, water, additional safety gear, first aid items and team dinner after!

Team Ruby's Ramblers did a Great job! For me it was a Busy weekend....I was with Van 1 & Van 2 for the first half of the chase which ended in my hometown (convenient yes). I had already committed to be at another race on Saturday,

then I traveled to the finish line to meet up with the kids,
I Was So Tired...

Sunday was church then I went to yet another race Miles for Millie,
#BusyIsAsBusyDoes

Well that's it for the Re-launch! More to come about Bourbon Chase and I've started my Fall/Winter plan.

Just another Manic----Life ! #GoMe

Lot's have happened during the last few weeks...and when I say lots I mean L~O~T~S!

Right after my last post was the Expo for Horse Capital Half/Full Marathon at Fasig Tipton..my friend Starr and I had been working on getting vendors for it during the past year. It was a lot of work but so worth having new connections and providing options for the runners to purchase local made merchandise. Even with all the challenges of putting it on I learned so much regarding branding/promoting from the various vendors. #GoMe
The goal for next year is of course to have it Bigger and Better..plans all ready in the works. #GoUs

A Runner's Mom (aka This Girl) got her spot on the local radio WHIR1230AM (Tuesday mornings at 8:15) ...#GoMe !!
I'm beyond excited to be able to get information out to anyone/everyone that listens regarding races I'm involved in, which has actually opened a few more opportunities for me doing race photography.

I competed in the She Power 5K while my daughter and her friends ran the Half Marathon and PR'd !! #GoMe  It was the first time walk/running in the rain which may have had some factor in the said PR..
I helped a friend out with photography for her first Women's retreat during their 4mile race at Rising Sons Winery, again So Much Fun! Then competed again for Christmas in July 5K in Indianapolis no PR but still just under 45minutes, #GoMe

My ''The Picture Lady Photography'' schedule has been full since my last post as well 12 races reported on A Runner's Mom radio talk show - with most weekends coming up booked along with a couple I'm going to do while my runner daughter and her BRF's (best running friends) do their thing.

I [we] bought a different vehicle.. a Ford EcoSport her name is Ethel, something I really had not planned on but with all the traveling I will be doing helping with races and finding out everything that was going wrong with the Taurus I'm glad we did. We ended up with a Great vehicle along with a Fantastic Deal...I am one of Those People, an amount was planned for car payment and it happened with 15$ to spare. Another #GoMe

A unexpected expense was the washer not doing it's thing correctly....[because it was part of a  appliance 'Lowes Package Deal ' back before we got married] the washer was a bit Fancy, electronic timing start/stop wash settings and thinking it would last for my lifetime duration but alas It. Did. Not. I refused to buy another 'Fancy' washer like the Mr wanted to do, we went to a local scratch & dent store and guess what their machines come from Lowes! Go Figure...bought the same brand for a third of what the other one was, it's Bigger and is simple to start/stop/wash...#GoMe

The Mr goes on Medicare/Medicaid soon so on the hunt for reasonable medical insurance on me for the next few months (I qualify next April), it is Ridiculous ! Wish me Luck!

Now it's a matter of planning/organizing/scheduling my time, work on re-budgeting money [putting extra $$ to Ethel's payment], looking ahead for what's yet to come for this Fall & Winter. I have several goals & Plans to do yet this year luckily as a #retirednotexpired person I can work on them at my own pace or Not. In the meantime gonna try and link up with Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday.

The Weather...
Finally a bit cooler but with Rain in the Forecast, Last week had so HIGH Temps it was almost unbearable!

What I'm reading...
     Finishing up
Then going back too ..... it's normal to read multiple books at a time ...Right??

     anything RH,
     Elementary,
     Instinct

Menu Plan...
Grilled Chicken Breast will add some kind of side
     Taco Salad
     Grilled Salmon & salad
Mixed Greens Salad with lots of added Yummies..yellow bell pepper, shredded carrots, tomato's from the garden, sugar snap peas, black beans,
     Spaghetti
Frozen bagged meal [there a few to choose from in the freezer]

This Week To Do/Goal List...
      Finish this post....
fine tune A Runner's Mom radio show list
     finish #IMOMSOHARD book,
     work on August Budget,
