Happy Homemaker Monday 6-17-24

 

Better late than never. I have so much to get caught up on but first I want to get this HHM post done.

As you can see it's going to be ridiculously hot this week...I struggled a bit when I did my streak miles today.

Started the day in Bolder Athletic skirt, Runner Mom tank, Brooks running shoes,

then after showering I changed into regular tank top and jean shorts.

All things considered feeling ok. I have so much to get caught up on after last week's Heritage Hospice Blue Jean Ball which BTW was really nice! I hope to get a couple of 'catch-up' posts done that I've missed doing.🤞

By the time the Mr and I are done with the day, and dinner is finished we've only be able to watch a couple of Elementary programs we have recorded. Thank you DVR!!

Also we'll do Tuesday evening dinner out with SIL who is coming to visit, expecting there will be leftovers as well.

I've been asked to be race Ambassador for the upcoming Ironcology Survive the Night race event!! In the past I've 'volunteered/helped' with the race. This year I have a TEAM!! 

This past weekend's Wild Hearts Superhero race was a HUGE success [a post that needs to get updated] 800 signed up--yep 8ZeroZero...the event raised just over 30,000$$ for Kerrington's Heart

Mahjongg happened this afternoon, though there were only 3 of us [Natalie visiting her son] we still had a fun time...and I MahJongg

I'm going to try and work on daily posts and at the very least a few catch-up posts...my Highest priority will be the daily posts.

Found a Penny on my morning #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS mile[s]....Needing a LOT more 💰to go towards these purchases,

Did I go overboard?? Maybe. BUT I consider them an investment, and there's a different shoe for every day of the week.

Vroom, Vroom for 2 miles 🤣, not really but Day 4 is complete!

It's JUNE!!

Time flies when your [ fill in the blank ]. 

I've been kinda in a bit of funk the last couple of days. We had the funeral for my friend's husband Saturday afternoon and now it's a reality he's no longer with us. His Dementia/Alzheimer's over the past year has taken a toll on her.  We've already been on the phone this morning making short/long term plans to get her out of the house, maybe volunteering more, and start to enjoy life again.

Sunday Sermon + Project Me

 

A Sunday Sermon this morning,

After church, wardrobe change then off to grocery store. Aldi's because I needed our favorite frozen pkg'd meals...and Yes I had to really dig for them. Then quick Kroger stop to get coupon items. It looked like it was going to storm again so stopped for carry out Impossible burger & onion rings then hurried home.

Managed to get a few housekeeping tasks done and did my Day 2 #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS

I'm still in a funk/sad after my friend's funeral yesterday so calling it a day. 

Streaking + Saturday Race + GABBF + Funeral + O.M.G!!

 

And Happy STREAKING!!

Yep I'm gonna be a Streaker, and it's perfect timing as I'm starting up a new training cycle that needs to continue from now on with my races coming up...

Along with the Streak Challenge I joined in several Garmin Challenges, because 🤷Why Not??

Off to the races!!

Run for the Brass 5K this morning.

Today's race event is in My hometown, early morning start but not as early as normal.

Everyone that finishes gets a medal...age group medals in Bronze, Silver & Gold can also be used as coasters.

A decent turnout [finally]! We needed at least 100 to break even - ended up with around 115.

New timing team worked for us today. Josh Cromer [frt right] is a Fire Fighter from Georgetown and started Commonwealth Race Timing that he does on weekends...Great Guy and Great Team to work with. You can view Photos HERE

After the race I hurried downtown to 'shoot' this year's Great American Brass Band Festival parade....Some of my favorite people are in charge of the line-up & organization of the groups.

My amazing friend Lynn & her daughter Alex - not JUST friends but family as well. Here's a few of my pick's from the parade.

I personally was disappointed in the parade, [keeps getting smaller every year??] but it was what it was...Thanks to Lynn She caught me in the Act of Acting up🤣

Once the parade was over I high-tailed it home to work on race picture link and cleanup for my friends funeral...though he has already been interred at Camp David his sister wanted a 'service' for the family & friends. It's been a stressful time for Mac[wife] and she's handling things like a Champ, for now.

The service was nice but a bit long. We made it through, went to the reception that the church provided then went to Mac's for a 'friends fair well' reception. Toasting with his favorite Scotch, and food. We didn't stay to late as I need to get my mile in for the June #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS challenge...

Though it rained, I still got it done with a bit extra.

Whew it's been a day, High's & Low emotions. Time to call it a night.
