Blog 365 ~ Camp Nelson Nat'l Monument Hike

33 of us showed up for today's Tuesday hike adventure. It's been a few weeks since I've went with my Casey County Explorer's group, but so glad I did!

Camp Nelson National Monument is quite the area to see and hike, read about it ---> HERE and
---> HERE if you're in my area tag me and we'll go Hiking! I do plan on going back this summer to do a bit more exploring...there's the Oliver Perry House [currently in renovations], reconstructed Army Barricks, Hall Community, National Cemetery, and of course Walking Trails! They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays which is why we weren't able to check out more..  Sharing a few photos from today.

one of the many overlooks!

I was drawn to this Tree, Honestly, I heard it calling my name....so of course  yes, I got in her.

525 acres at this point, more acreage in the overall plan with more trails.

Kentucky River from one of the overlooks,

 In my happy Place !

Hope Everyone has had an AMAZING Day ! I know I have....

Blog 365 ~ Still at it....

πŸ™‹ Hi ! Still plugging away on this Blog 365 challenge. #GoMe

I posted this picture on my social media 'stories'

adding the catch phrase 'Blessed and Dressed for Success'
Something we do is be greeters at church, this morning was our Sunday. It's awesome to get to see and do a quick chat with everyone as they come in. Huge smiles, and How is your morning going goes a long way.

**********

Passing one of the bulletin boards I was pleased to see my photography displayed from the children's Christmas event.

**********
After church it was home to eat a quick bite and get ready for a walk...

I was planning on 3-4 miles [OOPS] but happy to get 2 in. The Wind was Killer!

It was amazing to see signs of Spring...
Tulips are popping up in front of the police station

**********
Some of the reason I only got in 2 miles was this Kid---👻
My youngest G'daughter Daylyn need a ride to dance class. So Chauffer Mommaw was on it!

Blog 365 ~ 11 more Days!! ~ Saturday

One more lazy Saturday to go before vacation mode and more importantly Early:Thirty Race Day Mornings Start! I get home on Feb 22nd followed by investment bank meeting on 23rd, Hub's heart Dr appointment on the 24th then Black History Month 5K & 1 Mile

 race on 25th....
Feet running forward [pun intended] with 7 races in March, 8 in April [and another trip], May Saturdays=booked, June Saturdays=booked, currently working on booking the balance of the year!

 **********

Am I counting down the days?? You Bet'cha! I'm excited to go and ''see'' Arizona. I'm excited to be vacationing with my Gal Pal's, here's just a couple of pic's from Mac she shared...

**********
Started this morning with plans to get in 3 more training miles. Plans Change!! After breakfast the Hub's and I decided to make a trip to

a HUGE truck stop/mini-mart/mini mall. Based out of Texas it is a 'all in one' convenience store.
One of their claims to fame is being voted having The Cleanest Restrooms in America. Seeing for ourselves was a must, and yes, they were. I would have taken pic's but thought better of it with all the other women in the restroom. Buc-ee's in New Braunfels, TX holds the World's record as the largest convenience store in the world at 66,335 square feet,
Buc-ee's in Katy, Tx holds the Worlds record for Longest Car Wash,

They make everything in house so we bought a couple Veggie Burrito's, and I couldn't resist the
Peanut Butter Fudge [ no I didn't get a Buc-ee's Plush], I wasn't disappointed, but not sure about hearing all the hype. Will we go back?? Probably, but not anytime soon.

**********
More exciting was getting home to find my Shari Lapena Books were delivered...

One is on back order and should arrive next week. Reading the backs of them I was stymied on which one to read first! Hubby volunteered to choose for me - 'Stranger in the House' will be my first.

**********
Lastly, I'm happy to report Taxes are Done and Filed!! Earliest we've been able to get them done, makes me happy.

Blog 365 ~ Finally Friday !

Good Golly it was a Early start this morning....as I posted yesterday, we had a Meet & Greet this morning with Bledsoe & Elliott.

THE issue with this morning was I left it up to the Hub's to get us confirmed for attendance [he did] and to plan our departure from home so not to be late.....well we for SURE wasn't. He told me the event started at 8am and wanted to leave around 7:40ish. OK..I can do that. We planned to go to Cracker Barrel for a breakfast out treat afterwards, then hit up Kroger for the balance of grocery shopping. Guess who was there 1 HOUR EARLY!😲! Lord have mercy. I was too tired to fuss, we went to Kroger, got our list items & out, came back home to put away cold stuff then back to the meet & greet πŸ˜’...the problem was I also had my Lunch & Learn event today.

I was full after late breakfast, so didn't sample anything we made. It smelled great and I will be fixing the Fish soon.

From there I went straight to the park, wanted to get in another 2 miles of training.

It was colder today than earlier this week, and I was 'Turtle Slow' walking, but 2 miles got done.

Time to finish this post, warm up dinner, then relax! Hope everyone is warm, cozy, & Safe!

Blog 365 ~ Ground Hog Day !

Good old Punxsutawney Phil said there's 6 more weeks of Winter.....

General Beauregard Lee predicts an Early Spring...

Which critter is Right?? Not sure, but I do know that since moving to Ky [several years ago] I've learned NOT to pack away seasonal clothing.
Always keep something cooler/warmer handy for Just. In. Case.

**********
After breakfast & household chores, the Hubby and I went this morning and purchased 'Food Bank' items for the Salvation Army program through our Church. We had until the end of the month, but wanted to get it out of the way. Then headed to Walmart for our regular items we were out of. What A MESS ! The store is moving everything around, changing shelves, employees trying to stock, all with the personal shoppers trying to fill orders... they didn't know where stuff was either, LOL! The days of going in ''quickly'' to pick up a forgotten item won't be happening anytime soon. At least they can't change/move the milk & frozen food coolers??πŸ˜’?? or can they....! I plan on food $ budget update once I go to Kroger Saturday.

**********
Though my FCC Bible Study group met this morning, I opted not to go. We finished our 7 weeks of programing last Thursday, our 'instructor' was going to do some kind of 1 day-1 hour study, but.0 I knew I wanted and needed to start my walk/run training. Yesterday was 2 miles at the local park, with continuous walking/steps. No stopping for traffic lights or crossing any streets. I NEED to get in the habit of continuous since the racecourses are such. Was I happy with my time?? I was happy to go and do it...better times will come later [maybe much later] and I'm ok with that.

Today was 3 miles and I managed to keep my same pace. I'll take it. I layered up as the weather here is a brisk high 20's--low 30's. Yes, I did end up warm, but that's ok to.

**********
Once home, I showered off fixed half a sandwich for us and a few chips then started this post. I have dinner pre-planned - leftover baked chicken and leftover green beans w/queso - fixing Manwich tonight for tomorrow.
We have a coffee Meet & Greet with my friend Amanda Bledsoe who's running for State Senate and my friend/lawyer Daniel Elliott, he serves on the Economic Development and Workforce Investment, Families and Children, Transportation Committee and recent appointment as the new Chair of the Judiciary Committee. I've been involved/helped with Daniel' campaigning from the beginning of his career. And he's also a fellow runner! Afterwards I'm attending the monthly Lunch & Learn at our extension office, meeting with a director after class regarding an opportunity to get involved [maybe], then will head to park for another 2 miles before coming home.... which is why Manwich will be made tonight, LOL !
