Saturday's are for Running and Runners!

4am wake-up...5am as passenger princess with the Kid & her running buddy.

We were fortunate find a reasonable priced parking garage and the Bonus it was 1 block from Start line for this morning's race adventures!  

It was a cool morning and as always, I came prepared with warm blanket from my Queen Bee race.

 

Downtown Louisville is filled with all kinds of ''sites'' to view.

Finally daylight enough for a Start Line photo...

Streets blocked off, Security & Volunteers everywhere, an announcement about the course final checked and the runners started lining up. Hugs, Kisses, Run Safe Wishes to mine then I went up a block to get a spot. And Again, [sigh] I should have taken a photo of the runners making their way up - 2 1/2 blocks of runners headed to the Start! It Was Amazing to see.

The 5K was supposed to take off at 8:15...ended up with 8:35 start due to the city doing a secondary security sweep along the course ?!? Of all things they wanted to ensure there wasn't ANY problems with ''No Kings'' protestors, WTH [sigh] I do appreciate them going above & beyond.

I need to start remembering to do pre-race selfie's...

As I made my final turn towards the finish line 'ol Abe Lincoln greeted the runners...

Finished with a decent time = pleased with my self!

I decided to give myself 10-12 years to do as many adventures as possible I can do.

There were 4 of these fountains but people were sitting at 3 of them...

Found a great spot to watch for my Girl ...

She has her Momma's muscular legs...don't ya think??

Out of curiosity I checked my results only to discover I was 2nd in my age group!

Surprised and pleased with myself [but still need to work more with training].

So glad I did! She said it was a busy morning sold a lot of stuff.

She also does jewelry for the Mr's Constitution Square gift shop, specific for them.

Home in time to put a couple of Pot Pies in the oven, changed out the blanket on the bed, charge up camera batteries, and shower. I'm working a new race Midway Thriller tonight and thankfully Mr is chauffeuring me. 

And Yes, that's my girl running again tonight another 3.1 miles after running 13.1

A great turn out for a 1st time race event...home to a cold brew, the Mr turn on the UK ballgame, and I relaxed in bed. I know I'll sleep well tonight!
