Later Saturday morning = Deviate = no Bueno + Easter/Birthday Eve

Normal Saturday race mornings start at 5am..This morning I slept in 30'ish minutes [deviation] since the race wasn't starting until 9am. My Mr and I was able to have morning coffee and have some conversation. We talked about my Big Birthday on Easter no less and decided we would go get dinner tonight to beat the holiday crowds. I got camera gear together, made my oatmeal-to-go, another coffee to go and headed out with plenty of time to just enjoy the drive to Coldstream.

For once...and I mean, for once I actually drove the posted speed limits [deviation].

🤷 Why?? Because I had Plenty of time...I enjoyed to sun starting to peak out from the clouds, I was enjoying my Spotify tunes, enjoying sipping my to-go ☕coffee, and for once drove the speed limit [deviation, I take after my grandmother-lead foot]. I even took a different exit [deviation] to get on Hwy68 for a longer straight shot before the mad dash on New Circle Road...

Oh, So Smooth sailing with nothing but green Lights! Because that never happens [deviation]!

Getting on New Circle was a Breeze...next to no traffic [deviation]! Odd! Again, driving the posted speed limits when luckily, I happen to look in my rear-view mirror and there was a Speeding car on my tail around exit 6!! They swerved Just in Time before they would have rear-ended me! WTH! Then I started noticing the car start swerving back and forth, right lane - left lane very erratic! And again, luckily next to No Traffic this morning...Thank Goodness! My exit is 9B so I thought I would try and catch up to at least get the make/model of the car so I could call it in.. There was no catching up...I got to my exit and as I was turning, I seen the car crash into the barrier and bounce back to the other side of the road.

By the time I was able to turn around and go check on the driver a delivery truck driver had stopped and was also on scene. A bicyclist on the trail called 911, I am NOT a hero so please don't think that. I was Mad because he also hit me, but still I didn't want there to be serious injuries. The driver was So..Messed..Up! As in still Drunk-High- or both. It was apparent he did not know what happened. Air Bag of course deployed, I wasn't sure if he had a seat belt on or if the delivery guy unhooked it. All I know is the driver was missing a lot of teeth, had cuts on his arm, and a huge gash under his chin. The delivery driver started gagging from the blood so I knew he wouldn't be much help, all he could do was keep his hand on the driver's shoulder, keep him in the car and look in the opposite direction... I checked the fluids coming from the car and attempted to keep blood to a minimum. Luckily EMT/EMS/Paramedics showed up and took over the medical stuff...I reported to one of them what happen prior to the crash. As I was leaving the Lexington Police showed up, so I relayed the same info to them as well...

What a horrendous start to my Saturday morning....but Why?? [deviation] I got up later, I left my house later, I took a different route, I drove the speed limit...all Deviations!

I made it to the race, still early, delivered swag, and made this 🠟social media post🠟 Only because it was on my mind,,,

*****First and foremost I want to Thank GOD for watching over me this morning. Secondly, I want to thank Laura Coombs & Bob Baney for the 1st Aid Safety training. The erratic driver that came SO close to rear ending me at exit 6/7 crashed just past exit 9B...I gave assistance I could while waiting on EMS/EMT/Lexington police.

By God's grace, no other cars were involved.*****

I called the Mr just to make sure once he seen the post I wanted him to know I was Okay. Unless it's one of my Own as in daughter/Grands/Mr [until after that is]...I'm not one of those people that fall apart in a crisis.
----------
The race was nice sized with several runners for a great cause, helping the homeless. New Life Day Center was the charity partner. Though I was quieter this morning after the near crash incident I still feel like I had a good time with everyone...so when a runner asked if I would take their picture of course I said yes...BUT...I always turn around for selfie time, LOL
Eric Armbrecht in the blue. I tell runners that if they send me photos like this I would share on the blog. Eric is the first to actually send me a picture!

I stuck around long enough to get my miles in, thank you Donna for joining me. Then off I went.

----------
Heading home, again, I Almost was cutoff in heavy traffic...W.T. H!! That was it, I decided once I got home my Big Butt was staying put! Worked on photo link, sent them to Bob, and did nothing. When the Mr got home from work I was already showered and in lounge clothes...Sorry Honey I had Way to many deviations/close calls today I want to just stay home...where I/We are safe. So here we are
Feet up, Safe and sound at Home Sweet Home... Easter/Birthday Eve !!
Open face burgers and Tater salad on the menu, maybe a brew or 2 [me not Mr] relaxing.
The BIG Level70 tomorrow and I want to see it.

Good Friday Service

MC for tonight's He is Risen service Rev. Phillip Johnson

The Seven Last Words of Jesus, recorded in the Gospels, are seven different sayings Jesus uttered while on the cross. They are: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do," "Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise," "Woman, behold, your son! Behold, your mother," "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" "I thirst," "It is finished," and "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Deacon Welch...

1. "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do"

(Luke 23:34): Jesus shows compassion and forgiveness for those who crucified him, recognizing their ignorance and error.

Deacon Swann

2. "Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise"

(Luke 23:43): Jesus speaks to a fellow criminal who is also crucified, promising him a place in Paradise.

Deacon Smith

3. "Woman, behold, your son! … Behold, your mother!"

(John 19:26-27): Jesus, from the cross, entrusts his mother Mary to John the Apostle and John to Mary.

Lanny Lockett

4. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

(Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34): Jesus quotes Psalm 22, expressing a sense of abandonment and suffering as he carries the weight of humanity's sins.

My Mr Steve

5. "I thirst"

(John 19:28): This statement highlights Jesus' physical suffering and is fulfilled by the Roman soldier who offers him wine mixed with water.

Johnny Lofton

6. "It is finished"

(John 19:30): This word signifies the completion of Jesus' mission, the fulfillment of prophecy, and the offering of his life as a sacrifice for the salvation of humanity.

Deacon Ball

7. "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit"

(Luke 23:46): Jesus, with his last breath, entrusts his soul to God the Father.

An amazing time [as always] with our First Baptist Church family - they always do a "Glo" hunt so refreshments were served while Easter eggs were hidden for the littles..

Work day for me tomorrow for Brandon True Memorial 5K, headed home to prep.
