Blog 365 ~ Wednesday Worship ~ Window Project

Rocked my 'Plant Lady' shirt I got a year or so ago from Magnolia Farms.
Though I haven't visited YET, [bucket list place] I ordered her first book and got this shirt free. I do feel like I am a plant lady...will share more on that later...

So I did a thing this morning I got busy with 'sealing' clear gloss Urethane on the bathroom window frame, this is the same stuff I used outdoors on a converted stand and has held up well. No fading, or warping and still shiny.

The PurrKids were not happy with me afterwards since I closed off the room after setting a fan in there to dry the window...
it's hard to tell but the frame is White, and I put the clear coat on sorta thick, hopefully I won't need another coat, but will see over time. Now I can at least get the inside window cleaned and be able to have some natural light in there. I do plan on getting paint samples to do something with the walls, right now there's wallpaper & tile around the tub/shower combo...goal of 125$-150$ max to get everything done...

While that was drying, I headed to my Hospice meeting. We cataloged all the donations for the upcoming Blue Jean Ball.
Items are a variety of 'stuff'. There will be a 'Online' & 'Live' auction going on, hopefully ๐Ÿคž we make a lot of ๐Ÿ’ฐ.

As I've posted before, I have been torn spiritually at my current church FCC....That all changed today. Last Sunday we attended First Baptist Church and the sermon/scripture/lesson was titled 'Dealing with a Difficult Situation'

....it's also where we've been going for Bible Study on Wednesdays.

Today's Bible Study lesson pretty much Stopped me in my Tracks...
Who knew?? Well Yes God Knew... And I knew...So I made my decision/declaration/choice today. And I have to say I have Never, Ever been so Welcomed by the few during Bible Study. FBC has a full house every Sunday, including children of all ages. But, part of the reason I did my declaration today was so Not to put the hub's on the spot in front of a Full congregation. He still has obligations to fill at FCC, and that's okay too....

Then, off to get the G'Kid. I told her we would do lunch on her day off, so here we are at my friend Catina's place downtown...
The Catered Dog! We're talking fancy'ish hotdogs with different topping of your choosing. My all-time favorite is the Teriyaki... talk about Oh, My, Goodness GOOD.

Then it was off for a few more errands and spending a bit more time with the G'Kid before I needed to get home...I'm sure the hub's will want to talk about us now being a 'split' Spiritual household. Top priority tomorrow will be to send my resignation to the FCC Connections Team I'm on.

Thank you all for reading!

Blog 365 ~ Thoughts On Tuesday (#TOT)

So in my Happy Homemaker Monday post I mentioned my bathroom window...
Immediately after the hub's left this morning I got started,
Luckily, we did have some leftover white paint though it was very apparent I didn't use it last!!
Just ๐Ÿ‘€ look ๐Ÿ‘€ at all the gunk around the rim!! I punch holes on the inside and let residue paint drip back into the can.... #jusSayin
I started a fan to help dry and shut the door....

Next up....
Yard Therapy....
I mowed the front and side yard leaving the back for tomorrow [maybe๐Ÿคท] it will depend on how my meetings/appointments go.

I don't know about all of you, but yard therapy is just that for me. It gives me time to think about a lot of ''stuff'' - Good - Bad - Otherwise - just stuff. Which once I finished, I posted this on social media...
I've been thinking about Dr Briscoe's sermon this past Sunday - 'Dealing with a Difficult Situation'. I will be making my declaration during tomorrow's Bible Study to officially join First Baptist. We'll be a split religion household for a while, and that's OK.
My post included ''New Improved Priorities Coming'' !
This will be regarding Home [moving forward with a couple of projects hence bathroom],
Health [I joined the #streakingwiththeCOOLKIDS challenge-doing at least 1 mile a day for 30 days. My plan is to use June as my jumpstart for walk/run training],
Spiritual [changing churches],
Money [tightening up the spend strings & save more for trips coming up],
Time [looking at where/what is most beneficial for me],

I went 'shopping' upstairs...
I converted a closet upstairs into a pantry, which I've been re-stocking for 2023 fall/2024 winter months. Rice & peaches for tonight's dinner along with leftover Pork Loin Roast,
Strawberry Jam for morning toast or PBJ sanwich,
Syrup for waffles in the morning,
Storage bags because we ran out in kitchen.

After a quick lunch I tackled upstairs...
I can finally see the floor!!

All of this was in the living room area...
It's all stuff I got on clearance for next to nothing to be used for this year's Casey County Hike Christmas Potluck! Table decorations & misc 'prize' items.

Lastly, here's a pic of the outdoor cat Whitey!
If he looks in rough shape, it's because he is...
We have another grey tuxedo stray๐Ÿ˜ผ that he's been fighting with.

First coat of this happens on bathroom window frame in the morning.
It worked really well on the outdoor repurposed aquarium stand into plant stand...so ๐Ÿคž

OH..๐Ÿ˜ต..and can you believe JUNE will be here Thursday ๐Ÿ˜ต!!

Blog 365 ~ Big Lex 4 miler Race Re-cap

After going to bed a Zero:Early:Thirty last night, [stupid sinuses] I'm up Early:ThirtyAM for this Race Day Saturday morning...then the hub's was too?? Have I mentioned he's Waaaay to Chipper in the morning??..He is and I am NOT, makes for a rough start and now with sinusitis ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. And he wants me to take my blood pressure??? Umm, no. No thank you just go away and do your thing while I'm trying to drink this ☕coffee☕.  But I Love'em...

So now that that's over with, I'm eating half a biscuit with peanut butter 'cause I want to take more sinus meds and get ready to head to my race.

BIG LEX 4 MILER!!
4 years-in person- now but like every other race event still not at previous numbers 2019 there was 747 that crossed the finish line then Covid, 2020/0, 2021/348 [people were ready to get back out], 2022/279 & this year 2023/277. It's going to take time to get those numbers up, still I'm glad to be able to do the race photography with my team RaceRise.

The race was a celebration of all things Lexington, officially kicking off summer in the Bluegrass. This unique 4 mile race course runs through the historic Keeneland grounds, with team competition, overall and age group awards, DJ, free race photos compliments of MOI - A Runners Mom and More & Abby of JA Laub photography
I was excited to see Abby this morning, normally it's her hubby Jeff at race events.

Orange Theory started everyone off with pre-race stretches,

...Ready to start...

In addition to the signature 4 Miler, there also was a 1 Mile Fun Walk, Little LEX Kids' 1/4 Mile Fun Run/Walk,
Lead by Verne, and Virtual Runner/Walker opportunity.

All the 'littles' in the kids race each one received a medal,

The course it's self is really neat and planned out well...

I'm able to stand in 1 spot to get the first turn,
then back up a few feet and get the runners as they're
coming down before they turn right. Then behind me..
I can always get a few shots as they continue the course....

While the spectators waited they could enjoy a 'free' cup of Berserker Brew Coffee
Based out of Louisville, we're seeing them more & more at race events..AND their coffee is engineered for ATHLETES!!

Coffee not your thing?? First of all you are Not my people, #jusSayin but there was also
Highbridge Springs water truck for everyone to fill up water bottles and such.

My good buddy Steve, founder of Estepp's
provided all kinds of snack's and Gatorade for the runners.

These folks were BUSY doing stretch exercises for runners when they finished...
Stretch Lab  Awesome stuff!

And of course the awards were Again amazing from the folks from Visit Lex
Nice sun Visors for the age group winners,
and since I've worked with them in the past...like a Lot...I got one too!

They were also giving out sunglasses with the 'blue' horse emblem on the side...

I don't know of anyone that doesn't like free!!

And of course every race needs Music Motivation!!
DJ Stiltz turning & burning those tune tables !

The race charity beneficiary was Old Friends. Old Friends provides a dignified retirement to Thoroughbreds whose racing and breeding careers have come to an end.
By promoting these once celebrated horses through a campaign of education and tourism, their goal is to raise awareness of the importance of equine aftercare. A portion of entry fee and all donations goes to the charity.

There's my Saturday thus far...I need to do my miles virtually, probably tomorrow after church so I can proudly sport my race shirt,
Wear my visor and sunglasses.

On the way out of Keeneland I HAD to stop and selfie with the trailer,
I've passed it a hundred times, well 8X in this past week. So today was the day!

Off to a surprise B'day party for a Gal Pal....[Shhh] her daughter is planning it and said her mom hates ๐Ÿ˜‰surprises.
